Data Analyst

Associated Veterans is seeking a professional to perform work as a Data Analyst, who can function in a highly collaborative, multi-contractor environment for a government agency.  The candidate will perform analysis and support on programs and operations for our clients. The candidate will follow a structured approach that enables our clients to evolve to their desired future state. This approach is critical to our client’s ability to realize greater value and improvements in their planning, programming, acquisition, accountability, and performance measures.

The client office supports virtual self-service, contact centers, CRM platform systems and integrations to provide end users with information regarding benefits and services to the agency’s client base.  The client office is working toward modernizing the agency’s capabilities to provide accurate, efficient and timely information to improve customer interactions with the agency as well as measuring and improving service delivery.

The data analyst will use statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business reports. The analyst will also work with the management team to create a prioritized list of needs for each of our clients who support the Customer Experience Management System(s) for VA Contact Centers. This person will build data flow diagrams/models and validate multiple sets of stakeholders across CRM projects. This person will report to an overall Information Architect to outline the specific data needs for each business analysis project.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Computer Engineering AND;
  • 4 or more years' experience in data analysis, data mining and definition.
  • Experience leading meetings, facilitating workshops, and performing interviews with end users and other stakeholders to perform business data related functions.
  • Experience using BI tool (like Tableau) to perform data analysis.
  • Experience with developing information models and data flow diagrams.
  • Effective communicator, both oral and written.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage their tasks and time independently.
  • Ability to analyze current (As-Is) state of a business operation to understand its component parts and their relationship to each other in a system.
  • Ability to develop a future template (To-Be) for a business process or new software development.

Preferred Skills:

  • Business or Data Analysis certification (CBAP/PMI-PBA)
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
  • High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large scale databases for a gov’t organization
  • Experience with Toad, MySQL, SQL Plus
